4. User Data and Content
4.1 Ownership
You retain all rights, title, and interest in and to any data, content, documents, and materials you upload, create, or connect through the Service ("User Content"). Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of your User Content to Starch.
4.2 License Grant
By using the Service, you grant Starch a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to process, store, transmit, and display your User Content solely as necessary to provide, maintain, and improve the Service. This license terminates when you delete your User Content or your account.

User Content submitted through the AI chat interface is sent to third-party AI providers (Anthropic and Google) for processing in order to fulfill your requests. These providers may process the data under their own terms; however, Starch does not authorize these providers to use your User Content for model training purposes.

When you connect third-party services to Starch, data from those services is accessed and processed in accordance with the permissions you grant during the OAuth authorization flow. You may disconnect integrations at any time through your account settings.
4.5 No Sale of Data
Starch does not sell, rent, or trade User Content or personal data to third parties, advertisers, or data brokers.

- Does not use Google user data for advertising, ad targeting, or profiling.
- Does not allow humans to read Google user data except with user consent, for security purposes, to comply with applicable law, or when data is aggregated and anonymized for internal operations.
Google service integrations (Gmail, Google Drive, Google Docs, Google Calendar) are connected through authorized OAuth flows. You explicitly choose which services to connect and may revoke access at any time via the Connections settings in the Service.

- Subscription fees are billed in advance on a recurring basis (monthly or annually, as selected by you at the time of purchase).
- All fees are non-refundable except as required by applicable law or at Starch's sole discretion.

9. Copyright and Intellectual Property Complaints
Starch respects the intellectual property rights of others. If you believe that any content available through the Service infringes your copyright or other intellectual property rights, you may submit a notice to our designated agent with the following information:

10. Third-Party Services and Integrations
The Service integrates with a number of third-party services, including but not limited to Composio, Merge, Pipedream, Plaid, Stripe, Browserbase, E2B, Exa, Resend, and PostHog.
- Each third-party integration is subject to that provider's own terms of service and privacy policy. You are responsible for reviewing and complying with those terms.
- Starch is not responsible for the availability, accuracy, content, or practices of any third-party service.
- By connecting a third-party service, you authorize Starch to access and process data from that service on your behalf, in accordance with the permissions you grant.
- Disconnecting an integration will stop future data syncing from that service. Previously synced data may remain in the Service until you delete it or delete the associated project.
11. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer
Responses and outputs generated by AI through the Service are provided on an "as-is" basis and may contain errors, inaccuracies, or incomplete information.
- You are solely responsible for reviewing and verifying all AI-generated outputs before relying on them for any decision-making, financial, legal, or business purpose.
- Starch does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, timeliness, or reliability of any AI-generated content.
- AI-generated content does not constitute professional advice of any kind, including but not limited to financial, legal, medical, or tax advice.
12. Browser Automation and Code Execution
The Service may execute browser automations via Browserbase and run code in sandboxed environments via E2B on your behalf.
- You are solely responsible for the instructions you provide and the actions these automations perform.
- Screenshots captured during browser automation sessions are processed by AI providers to execute your requested actions and are not retained beyond the duration of the automation session.
- You must not use the Service's automation features to violate the terms of service of any target website, platform, or third-party service.
13. Privacy
Starch's collection, use, and disclosure of personal data is governed by our Privacy Policy. By using the Service, you consent to data collection and processing as described therein.
The Service uses analytics and session replay (via PostHog) to improve the user experience, with all form inputs masked for privacy. Analytics are only activated with your consent.
14. Service Availability and Modifications
- Starch strives to maintain high availability but does not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free.
- Starch may modify, update, suspend, or discontinue any feature of the Service, or the Service in its entirety, with reasonable notice where practicable.
- Scheduled maintenance windows will be communicated in advance when feasible.
- Starch is not liable for any downtime, data loss, or service interruptions, whether planned or unplanned.
15. Termination
- You may delete your account at any time through the Account Settings in the Service. Account deletion permanently removes all associated data, including projects, tools, automations, connections, and personal information.
- Starch may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, with notice where practicable.
- Upon termination, you will lose access to your account and all associated data. You should export your data before terminating your account using the "Export My Data" feature available in the Service.
- Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination — including but not limited to Intellectual Property, Copyright Complaints, Disclaimer of Warranties, Limitation of Liability, Indemnification, and Governing Law — shall survive.
16. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, STARCH DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND ACCURACY OF AI-GENERATED CONTENT.
STARCH DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE, OR THAT ANY DEFECTS WILL BE CORRECTED.
17. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, STARCH'S TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ANY AND ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS OR YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE TOTAL AMOUNT PAID BY YOU TO STARCH IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS IMMEDIATELY PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM.
IN NO EVENT SHALL STARCH BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF PROFITS, LOSS OF BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES, OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, REGARDLESS OF THE THEORY OF LIABILITY (WHETHER IN CONTRACT, TORT, NEGLIGENCE, STRICT LIABILITY, OR OTHERWISE), EVEN IF STARCH HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
18. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Starch and its officers, directors, employees, agents, and affiliates from and against any and all claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to:
- Your violation of these Terms.
- User Content or data you submit, upload, or connect through the Service.

- If informal resolution is unsuccessful, any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association, except for claims that qualify for small claims court.
- You and Starch each waive the right to participate in any class action lawsuit, class-wide arbitration, or any other representative proceeding.
20. Changes to Terms
Starch may update these Terms at any time by posting the revised version on this page and updating the "Effective date" above. We will provide notice of material changes via email or a prominent notice within the Service.
Your continued use of the Service after the revised Terms take effect constitutes your acceptance of the changes. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the Service.
